Who We Are

We are a dedicated coalition of practitioners, advocates, and community partners committed to one central goal: reducing disaster risk and building resilient communities in Nepal.

Born from the understanding that disasters—from earthquakes and floods to climateaggravated landslides—are not just natural events but also consequences of social and developmental choices, we work at the grassroots where risk is felt and resilience is built.
We bridge the gap between policy and practice. While we support national frameworks like Nepal’s National Climate Change Policy and align with global goals (the SDGs), our true focus is on the local level: the municipality, the ward, the school, and the household. We believe sustainable safety is built by empowering those on the front lines.

Empower Communities with Knowledge & Action

Raise awareness on disaster risks (earthquakes, floods, landslides) and their links to climate change.
Develop & implement community-based disaster preparedness plans and conduct mock drills.
Promote resilient family plans and safe settlement practices, including relocation from high-risk zones.

Build Back Safer & Smarter

Advocate for and support the implementation of earthquake-resistant and flood-resilient building codes.
Promote integrated, safe, and sustainable community planning, including green settlements and low-carbon transport.

Strengthen Local Systems & Policies

Enhance the capacity of local governments to plan, budget for, and integrate DRR and CCA into development work.
Foster coordination between communities, national bodies (like NDRRMA), and international partners.

Invest in the Next Generation of Leaders

Develop the skills of youth to research, campaign, and advocate for disaster justice and resilient development.
Mobilize youth volunteer networks for community safety and disaster response initiatives.

Anchor Action in National & Global Goals

Ensure our grassroots work directly contributes to Nepal’s climate policy and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
